Annual National Marfan Awareness Week

National Marfan Awareness Week is the third week in November and CMA members, friends and families across the country help spread the word and educate others in their local communities about Marfan syndrome by holding activities and events.

Here are some examples of events you may want to hold:

  • Exhibits at local hospitals
  • Articles in local and or national newspapers
  • Information booths in local malls
  • Public Service Announcements on radio
  • Organize a meeting with your local schools introducing the “How do Your Genes Fit?” video and teacher’s booklet.
  • Speak to your physician about the distribution of the video “Emergency Diagnosis and Treatment of Aortic Dissection” in your local hospital.
  • Craft or bake sales
  • Golf tournaments
  • Walk-a-thons
  • ….or be creative and create your own event!

These are just a few ideas that can significantly help spread awareness and education of Marfan syndrome.
