I just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Valerie and I'm from Edmonton, AB. I"m 26 and I've known I've had marfans pretty much all my life. I had a great pediatrician that suspected marfans from 2yo but I was formally diagnosed until age 10 when my aorta started to dilate. I am a first generation mutation as no one else in my family has marfans.

My main "marfan" problem has been Dural ectasia and I've gone through quite a lot of problems from it. But thats a long story, if anyone wants to know more about it please PM me.

I haven't had too many heart issues thankfully. My aorta was growing rather fast at about 0.2 a year(3.7 to 3.9 to 4.2) but thanks to Irbesartan(an AR my aorta has stopped growing and actually shrunk back to 3.7.

I"m also extremely tall at 6'4". Makes it hard to find girl clothes that fit right and I'm also constantly having to deal with the "do you play basketball" comments

So thats just a bit about me. I'm so glad the CMA finally has a forum. I'd love to meet some more canadian marfs or anyone that lives around Edmonton or Alberta.
