My son (age 17) has submitted bloodwork for genetic testing to confirm Marfan's, no results yet. We both show a significant amount of the physical signs, but neither seems to have the ocular involvement...does anyone know if it is possible to have Marfan's and not have a problem with eyes? I understood that the opthalmological component was the sure-fire diagnostic sign (after genetics).

My father had Marfan's and wore glasses, my sister and I and my 2 year old son have Marfan's and nothing is wrong with our eyes, so I do not think that the opthalmological component is the sure-fire diagnostic sign----bloodwork for genetics is.
Good luck

I'm 39 and have a fairly serious case of marfans but yet no eye involvement.
Currently working on my 8th vascular dialation, sacral spine surgeries.....etc etc.
Hope this helps you.

My husband has Marfans and the only problem that he has ever had with his eyes is that he is nearsighted and wears glasses, but then lots of people have that symptom.
He has other signs, but you don't have to have all symptoms to have Marfans.
